The leaves speak
Shades
Red, orange,
Gold, yellow
And green…
Evergreen

The sky speaks
Blue
White, pearly
Clouds of glory
Grey and gunmetal
Dark and darker

As autumn appears
There are apples on the tree
Plums and pears
The promise of rain
Cold, bright, silver
Aging beauty

The starlings
Will soon be here
Swirling and dancing
And the wind 
Will join in
Sweeping up
Fallen leaves

The outside world
Passes us by

We are colourless
Seasonless… empty
We play games
In the dark
And our machinery
Seduces us

Don’t let the magic touch
Of seasonal splendour
Pass you by
