For over 30 years I have lived in my home City by the sea. As a kid I came here for holidays and dreamed of living here. I can think of no greater joy than living in a place of ones choosing.
House Blessing
There are a thousand voices in this place
Gods, fairies, workers and dwellers
Ghosts, spirits, dreamers and sleepers
But the ones I love most
Are the ones I know and love
A thousand spirits are healed in this place
Past, present and future
They have stepped under the roof
Tucked up
Breathed deeply
And flourished
Plants, people and animals
Living, haunting and hanging-out
Do I need to list all the spirits
that have settled in this place?
Eaten?
Laughed?
Played and prayed?
Contemplated?
Been happy?
No, they are far too many
It’s a full-time job having fun
And it’s a full-time job
Celebrating this place and its people
Which is why I say…
Bless this house
And all that dwell in it
Today, tomorrow and for all time
